The A Team’s Commitment to Non-Profit Organizations

General

There are nearly 1.3 million non-profit organizations in America – 82,000 of which reside in New York State – that provide support and services to community members needing assistance. The work they do elevates communities and saves lives. Finding ways to effectively manage with very limited resources, these organizations depend on the generosity of others to survive. For over 15 years, The A Team has been involved with assisting its non-profit Clients in managing their assets so that they can reach, and exceed, their goals.

On this Veteran’s Day, we shine a light on the wonderful work done by two of The A Team’s non-profit Clients as they support the brave men and woman who risk their lives to protect our freedom.

United War Veteran’s Council

The mission of the UWVC is to honor and serve America’s veterans and to help them and their families obtain much needed care, recognition and opportunities.  By raising awareness and increasing understanding of the veterans’ needs, and unifying efforts across all service areas, UWVC endeavors to provide continuing support to these deserving men and women.

Their best known initiative is the New York City Veteran’s Day Parade which has been in existence since 1919 and is the largest veteran event in the nation, drawing over 25,000 participants.

Ryan Moore, Senior Controller at The A Team since 2017, oversees UWVC’s financial management and provides regular on-site support. “Non-profit organizations have unique challenges in managing limited resources,” Ryan notes, “and the ATeam’s holistic approach of listening and learning allows us to deliver the best possible service so that the organization can focus on their core mission.”

Adds Dominick Bencivenga, President, “Nonprofit organizations are an important part of The A Team’s client base.  Not only do they have real needs that we can, and consistently do, solve; but they allow us the opportunity to be a critical part of NY City’s fabric by helping them serve veterans, children, the arts or the many others in our society in great need.”

Heroes to Heroes

Another valued Client of The A Team, Heroes to Heroes, has the profound mission of providing spiritual healing, peer support and suicide prevention services for American Combat Veterans who have attempted suicide or are on the road to self-destruction due to moral injury. Appallingly, 20 veterans die by suicide every day, so the need for intervention and action is great.

Heroes to Heroes actively identifies veterans needing their services and takes them on healing tours through Israel visiting holy sites such as The Western Wall, Stations of the Cross, and Church of the Holy Sepulchre; and also provides the opportunity to be baptized in the River Jordan. These experiences offer veterans opportunities for soul-searching and inner peace regardless of belief. To date, over 200 veterans have benefitted from their Heroes to Heroes journey.

The A Team’s Mission is to provide the highest quality accounting and accounting technology service to each of its valued clients. Do you have – or know – an organization that needs support in accounting, technology or recruiting? We’d love to help! You can reach us at [email protected].
